Aroma Therapy

This 90-minute hands-on aroma therapy "make and take" workshop is an opportunity for participants to create their own custom fragrances using a collection of 24 different essential oils. Participants will learn about the vast array of essential oils and their use throughout history. Each student will take home 3 aroma therapy items, each made with their own custom fragrance: a wearable lava bead bracelet, a roll-on bottle and an aroma therapy inhaler tube.

Essential Oils are a part of "nature's pharmacy", providing a holistic approach to enhance our sense of well-being, elicit feelings, conjure memories and instill a sense of peace and calmness. Regardless of age, gender or areas of interest, natural fragrances affect everyone in unique ways. Many people believe essential oils have beneficial effects on mood, memories, and health.

Dr. Michael Schaber is retired drug-discovery scientist and adjunct professor with a 40-year career in pharmaceutical research. While Aroma Therapy is not meant to be a replacement for medical treatment, the goal of this workshop is to help participants identify the essential oils that support a mind-body connection that may enhance their quality of life.
